For Teachers: Online Teaching Professional Development Opportunity!

Developing & Improving Online Teaching Strategies & Promising Practices: OTA 121

SOCRATES and Online Teaching Associates (OTA) have partnered to offer a six-week online professional development course to teachers aspiring to attain the knowledge and skills to be effective facilitators of highly interactive, technology-mediated learning, in both fully online and “blended” online learning environments.

This course is exclusively being provided in Minnesota through SOCRATES and offers the following special features:

  • Course is based on national standards (iNACOL and ISTE) and data-driven research and practice;
  • Teachers can become certified as local trainers for online learning development and facilitation;
  • Scholarships for teachers with high potential for online teaching and online teacher training;
  • Our courses' co-designer is a nationally recognized educational technology researcher, Teacher Educator, and co-author on "What Works in K-12 Online Learning."

*Sections by request are available based on a minimum cohort of 15 participants

Cost:
$350/participant (tuition discounts available for cohorts and members) 

Continuing Education Units:
60 CEUs (teaching or administrative) each session

Graduate Credit:

  • 3 graduate credits are available through Hamline University School of Education. The cost is $150/credit or $450 for the course.
  • Please follow the instructions on the top of the registration form (PDF) to register by fax, mail or in-person.
  • Phone registrations are not accepted. In order for you grades to be sent to Hamline, please notify your instructor that you are taking the course for credit.
