FOR ADMINISTRATORS:
PLANNING AND ADMINISTERING DIGITAL EDUCATION – OTA 621 and OTA 631

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY!

 

SOCRATES and Online Teaching Associates (OTA) have partnered to offer two 3- week online professional development courses for administrators to attain the knowledge and skills needed to be effective leaders in online educational programs, in both fully online and “blended” online learning environments.ota121

These courses are exclusively being provided in Minnesota through SOCRATES and offers the following special features:

  • Courses are based on National Educational Technology Standards for School Administrators (NETS*A - ISTE) and the iNACOL National Standards for Quality Online Progams iNACOL 2009) and data-driven research and practice;
  • Opportunity to earn 30 administrative CEUs per 3 week session;
  • Teachers can become certified as local trainers for online learning development and facilitation; and
  • Our courses' co-designer is a nationally recognized educational technology researcher, Teacher Educator, and co-author on "What Works in K-12 Online Learning."

OTA 621 Design and Development (30 administrative CEUs)OTA 621/631 FLYER

  • Understand and discuss the benefits of online education programs; emphasizing what virtual learning environments provide that strengthens and improves traditional programs;
  • Identify the technology systems and human resources required to implement online learning in a public or private school

OTA 631 Administration and Supervision (30 administrative CEUs)

  • Describe the cost, funding, and budget implications of online learning
  • Select and prepare teachers for online programs
  • Describe evaluation and assessment methods for onlie learning
  • Describe ethical/legal issues associated with online learning
