Leading Edge Online and Blended Certification

Leading Edge Certification FOR ONLINE AND BLENDED TEACHERS

This national online teacher certification guides educators through rigorous and engaging curriculum based on the International Association for K-12 Online Learning (iNACOL) National Standards for Online Teaching. Upon successful completion, the certification will give schools, districts and other prospective employers assurance that Leading Edge Certified Online Teachers not only have the skills to effectively facilitate online courses, but also have a solid understanding of how to enhance the learning opportunities for all students enrolled in their courses.

OVERVIEW

  • A pedagogy-focused, not technology-focused professional development program
  • 10 weeks, 6–15 hours/week (depending on learning style and tech expertise)
  • Nationally recognized certification
  • $450 per participant (3 optional graduate credits offered by Hamline, $486)

This blended learning course begins with a daylong face-to-face workshop followed by 8 weeks of online instruction and 2 weeks of online professional portfolio development.

This curriculum is aligned to ISTE and iNACOL standards and also meets the requirements passed in the 2012 legislature to prepare both pre-service and in-service teachers to have "the knowledge and skills needed to deliver digital and blended learning and curriculum and engage students with technology".
